Wispr Flow sends dictation audio to the cloud for transcription. Turning off cloud storage does not turn off cloud processing. If you need sensitive audio to stay on your Mac, that leaves you without a local-only dictation option. Cloud transcription also depends on connectivity, so connection problems can delay your finished text.
Cue gives you that choice: transcribe on your Mac so your dictation audio stays on-device, or select a cloud model when you want one. You decide where that processing happens.

Do you still need Wispr Flow and Granola?
If you currently pay for Wispr Flow to dictate and Granola to capture meetings, Cue can bring those jobs into one workspace—along with the notes, Chat, editing, and agent connections that follow.
But the honest comparison has changed: Wispr Flow now includes bot-free Notetaker and a remote MCP layer. The decision is no longer simply “one app or two.” It is whether you want an account-based cloud workspace, or a local-first workspace whose source material remains readable Markdown on your Mac.

Does Wispr Flow already include meeting notes?
Yes. Wispr Flow offers bot-free Notetaker on Mac and Windows where enabled, with transcripts, summaries, notes, and meeting chat. It can record offline, then transcribe after reconnecting. Cloud sync is optional for local meeting notes, and recording allowances vary by plan.
Which product can keep dictation entirely on the device?
Cue can transcribe with an on-device model, so audio does not need to leave your Mac for that workflow. Wispr Flow states that transcription happens in the cloud, with separate controls for model training, cloud storage, and local history. Its optional on-device draft runs alongside cloud transcription rather than replacing it with a local-only mode.
Can Cue replace both Wispr Flow and Granola?

What does “open for agents” mean?
It does not mean Cue is open source. It means your Cue Vault remains readable Markdown and Cue MCP can give compatible agents permissioned access to the context you choose, without forcing you to rebuild your knowledge in another silo.
Is Cue Agent Mode available?
Not yet. Chat and MCP are available in the public build. Full Agent Mode is coming. Q, Chief, and Routines are currently invite only.
Does Cue charge for on-device dictation?
No. Cue does not charge for work performed on your device. On-device dictation is free and unlimited. Basic and Pro expand access to other features and include cloud credits. Cue Pro has a $15 monthly base price; regional prices and allowances are listed on the pricing page.
