With Cue, you can dictate a message, capture a meeting without a bot, turn the discussion into notes, and ask Chat to work with those notes. Edit Mode rewrites selected text in another app. In your workspace, Chat can edit notes, and a connected agent with editing access can work on your files.

Cue also remembers useful context from your saved work. Relevant people, projects, and past decisions can inform a later conversation, so you spend less time explaining the same background. Notes and memory remain readable local Markdown files you can inspect and edit.

You choose how the work is processed. Use on-device dictation to keep speech on your Mac, or select a cloud model for supported transcription and AI tasks. A cloud step sends the audio or context needed for that task to its provider; keeping the files locally does not make that step local.

Cue offers complete free on-device dictation and does not charge for work performed on your Mac. It also lets you choose cloud processing for a workflow that needs it. The distinction is not “local versus cloud-only”; it is whether your spoken work becomes a set of notes and meeting records in ordinary local Markdown.

For sensitive work, check the active model and any later AI step in either product. A local speech model does not automatically mean every cleanup, summary, or connected-agent request stays local.
